New Japanese restaurant on the way as Noosa Junction tempts tenants

By Rebecca Holland

Vacant commercial properties are being snapped up more quickly as Noosa Heads emerges as a vibrant dining and retail destination.

Japanese eatery YEN Teppanyaki Restaurant & A la Carte is expected to open next month after leasing Shop 1 at 34 Sunshine Beach Road through Ray White Commercial Noosa & Sunshine Coast North.

Agent David Brinkley says the Noosa Junction precinct is coming alive as local owners invest in building upgrades and tenants come up with creative internal fit-outs.

“Some previously challenging tenancies which have sat empty for extended periods of time are now getting snatched up by eager operators keen to join the ever-growing mix of trendy restaurant, bars and boutique fashion stores,” Mr Brinkley says.

“I’ve been a Noosa local for 30-plus years and it really is fantastic to see the precinct making such exciting steps forward.”

YEN Teppanyaki Restaurant & A la Carte has taken a five-year lease plus two three-year options with an initial starting rent of $70,000* per annum.

An interstate investor owns the 179sqm tenancy, which includes a large undercover area and is close to the Noosa Junction transit centre. The marketing campaign had targeted tenants who operate surf and fashion shops, medical and dental practices, real estate agencies or cafes.

“After countless inspections with varying end users for 34 Sunshine Beach Road, we finally found the right fit for the space when we met with the prospective tenants who had the concept for YEN Teppanyaki Restaurant & A la Carte,” Mr Brinkley says.

A spokesman for YEN Teppanyaki Restaurant & A la Carte says: “We want our guests to have a fun, nutritious and value-for-money experience. Our menus will cater for different food preferences, dietary requirements including gluten-free, and for the little ninjas in your family.”

Mr Brinkley says interest in Noosa Junction retail tenancies is also helping to push along the office leasing market.

“Professionals and medicos want to be situated near the action too,” he says.

“Noosa Junction is proving a popular choice with tenants seeking both retail and office spaces.”

YEN Teppanyaki Restaurant & A la Carte is expected to open by June 2018.
