Beachside Commercial Precincts in Hot Demand
Sunshine Coast beachside strips have become tightly held commercial precincts. From Noosa to Caloundra, demand from business owners and investors is up.
2XU to Debut on Hastings Street
Leading sportswear company 2XU is opening its first Sunshine Coast store on the famous Hastings Street tourist strip at Noosa Heads after leasing a retail outlet through Ray White Commercial Noosa & Sunshine Coast North.
2XU has secured a 70 sqm retail tenancy at Lot 2, 18 Hastings St, Noosa Heads, in a deal negotiated by Ray White Commercial Noosa & Sunshine Coast North Directors Paul Butler and Paul Forrest on behalf of a local investor owner.
Paul Butler said 2XU has 19 stores throughout Australia and New Zealand and this premium north facing shop in the heart of highly sought after Hastings St will mark its Sunshine Coast debut.
“2XU are joining a number of high quality retailers that are expected to open their doors over the next few months as Ray White Commercial Noosa & Sunshine Coast North complete major leasing deals in Hastings St,” Mr Butler said.
“We are excited by the quality of operators knocking on our door looking to get a position in the street at present.
“The vast majority of the deals being negotiated are being done in an off market basis. There is next to no quality stock available to the general public at present.”
Paul Forrest said: “It is our expectation that there will be no premium stock available for Christmas at the rate Hastings St is going.
“With low interest rates, a low Australian dollar and fantastic weather, tourists are flocking to Noosa and spending their money in the restaurants and shops.
“Accommodation houses are reporting full occupancy from September throughout the holiday period and there is limited opportunity for the Christmas holidays.”
2XU has taken out a 5 + 5 year lease at a net rental of $180,000 per annum.
