Noosaville Jetty Sold for $1.2 Million

A Noosa River jetty leasehold site and business at Noosaville on the Sunshine Coast has changed hands for $1.2 million in a deal struck by Ray White Commercial Noosa & Sunshine Coast North.

The sale of Jetty 17, 248 Gympie Terrace, Noosaville, by John Petralia of Ray White Commercial Noosa & Sunshine Coast follows the sale by Mr Petralia earlier this year of the nearby Pelican Boat Hire Business for an undisclosed sum.

Mr Petralia said the 488 sqm tenanted site of Jetty 17 had been offered for sale for an extended period by other agents and it attracted strong interest when listed with Ray White Commercial Noosa & Sunshine Coast North.

“This transaction on behalf of local business owners again confirms the value of these leasehold riverfront sites,” Mr Petralia said.

“There were 40 inquiries on the property, including some from the people who had looked at the Pelican Boat Hire site. However the purchaser was a new inquiry that came from the marketing campaign to highlight this opportunity.

“This result shows the value of investing in advertising when selling a commercial property. I had a number of inquiries, where people who were here on holidays saw the print ads and sent the information to relatives and friends who live interstate.”

Mr Petralia said an understanding of the value of the property as well as the business and being able to portray the potential of both effectively to a buyer was a major reason for the sales success.

“Pelican Boat Hire was a more established business, whereas Jetty 17 is more of a blank canvas,” he said.

“Prior to our marketing of the business/leasehold, interested parties were presented with a business that had undergone a major shift in direction and therefore didn’t have a consistent financial history. Promoting the business required working through the current business structure and the financials with interested parties and being able to discuss and create a vision of what the business could grow into.”

Mr Petralia said the new owner is relocating from Brisbane and will be actively involved in the running of the boat and kayak hire business at Jetty 17.

“The popular Stand Up Paddle hire and lessons and Ocean Rider will continue to run from the site. The new owner is planning some minor cosmetic and presentation changes and over time introducing new complimentary marine activities.”
